Bearly Wait DIY Cricut Baby Shower Cake Topper
Hi friends! Amanda from Lace Designs Studio here and today and we’ll be working on a super cute Bear themed cake topper - something you can whip up in about 15 minutes. Just use this link to take you to my Bearly Wait Topper Cricut project! Although I made this into a baby shower cake topper, you can use it on a plain gift bag to dress up your gift or even for centerpieces.
To start, we’re going to assemble the face of the teddy bear. I scored the small details on to make it easier to keep aligned. Once that was glued on, I assembled the individual (lighter color) bear pieces onto the larger teddy shape. Next, I moved on to the three layers of the hot air balloon, directly gluing on the light blue top layer, before adding 2mm foamies for the third and bottom layer.
Next, I added 3mm foamies in the middle so that the middle can be raised from the clouds - I love crafting with different depths. After putting the hot air balloon down in the middle, I grabbed the sliced Teddy inserts to create and even layer where the final teddy bear can be raised. If you’re not using foamies, you can eliminate this. I didn’t weld the bear and the hot air balloon in case you didn't want to use foamies- but this part is totally up to you. After both layers were placed in, I added the final teddy bear on top so that the cake topper itself was complete.
Lastly, we’re just going to glue the letters onto each respective offset - this is honestly the part that takes the longest, but it’s so worth it when you see the final look of the cake topper.
Now you have a super cute DIY baby shower decoration that even a beginner paper crafter can make!
