Easy Handmade Card Recipe for Mailing

Thu, Jan 05, 23 . Michelle Price

One of the challenges of handmade cards is that you want them to be gorgeous and special, but also be flat enough to mail well. It's something card makers try and balance every time they make a handmade card.

This stunning handmade card by Design Team Member Joselyn is just that! Elegant and special, but also perfect for mailing.

Supplies:

The files for this card are in the Silhouette Studio Library, but they are basic enough designs that you should be able to find similar designs anywhere.

To make this card, layer the gold glitter hexagon lattice onto the pearlescent white cardstock. Layer the bee pieces, using translucent vellum for the wings and use dimensional foam tape to "pop" the bee off the card front to give it a relief effect.

Use this simple card design recipe to make cards in any theme:

1. Pearlescent Card Base
2. Glitter Card Background that lets the pearl shine though
3. Layered "single cut" focal point image with mirror cardstock
4. Layer a solid cardstock behind the focal point image
5. Add accents to focal point with vellum or other specialty paper
