Easy Watercolor Card Idea

Hello! Manasa here with you today!

For my project this month, I wanted to share an easy handmade card idea using warm spring colors.

Supplies:

To begin, I cut my card to size. I intended to create a mini slimline card, so I cut my cardstock to 6 ½ x 6 ¼ inches. Score the card and fold in half on the 6 ½ inch side.

Pull out your favorite watercolors and some solid white cardstock paper. I used Neenah Classic Crest. Without overthinking, create a few watercolor blobs on your paper.

Once the watercolor is dry, use your favorite die/cutfile to cut out butterflies as shown below. I also cutout a few butterflies from vellum for layering.

For some more added interest, I used texture paste and a polka dot stencil to create some texture on my card base. This is an easy way to dress up plain cardstock. Just lay the stencil over the cardstock and smear the texture paste onto it. Lift the stencil off the paper and let dry.

Assemble your card as shown in the picture. To finish off the card, I used some white plaint splatters. I also used the Autumn Cardstock from AC Cardstock to create an envelope for my card.

If you recreate this card, please share it with us on Instagram or Facebook! We love to see customer creations.
