Fishing Birthday Card For Men
Hi! Design Team Member Brenna here! Are you looking for the perfect birthday card for the men in your life? This fishing themed birthday card is sure to make someone's day. It’s cute, easy-to-make, on-theme, and with a masculine color palette you can't go wrong! Get the free SVG file here.
Birthday cards for men that love all things outdoors (like fishing) can be hard to find, but this fish-themed birthday card is easy to cut and works so well with 12x12 Cardstock Shop's papers! I whipped this card up quickly, and you can too!
The supplies for this card are simple, and almost all of them can be found through 12x12 Cardstock Shop. I love the high-quality of their cardstock, it makes such a difference in my final product!
Supplies:
4-5 Colors of 12x12 Cardstock: I used four for this project, but looking back, I wish I had picked at least one more color. For my card, I used Encore Cardstock in Gingerbread, Mac & Cheese, Beehive, Grasshopper, and Gold Ring Sequin Glitter.
Adhesive : You can use whatever you have, but I would recommend using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.

A machine to cut your SVG File
Here’s the step-by-step instructions to create this punny birthday card!
To start making your birthday card, you must download this FREE SVG file. Then, cut out all of your pieces. Remember if you are using a thicker cardstock with a die cutting machine, always opt for doing more passes instead of changing the cut settings.
I always find that my paper gets ripped when I change the settings. Adding more passes just takes a few seconds longer (depending on how intricate the cut is), but it saves you from ruining your project altogether!
Grab the base of your card and fold it in half. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be ready for layering!
After laying down your base, you can stop if you want to! The card looks great as is, but if you want the card to really pop, I recommend layering your card with your favorite cardstock colors.
After glueing down the base, it’s time to start adding all the different layers. I used the Gold Ring Sequin Glitter cardstock to create the shiny hook and add some shine to the lure.
To create dimension on the yellow lure, I added an additional layer of Beehive cardstock to make it pop!
The only thing I would change is that I wish I had picked a different cardstock color for my big lure, since the grasshopper lure blended into the grasshopper card base. Since it didn’t stand out, I simply colored itbrown. However, looking back, I would probably make that lure this Antiqua color. What color of cardstock do you think I should’ve chosen?
And that’s it! Now you have the best birthday card for him! I know this would be an amazing addition to any gift for any fisherman
I hope you enjoy this fun, birthday card SVG file for him. It’s so easy to make and takes your personalized gift to the next level. I loved using 12x12 Cardstock Shop papers because of all the variety available to me. This SVG card could be done in so many color schemes using all the beautiful shades of Encore Cardstock.
