Design Team Member Kate here, back with a fun idea for making tags--3D tags! Join me for this quick papercrafting tutorial and make all your gifts extra special with this unique handmade tag idea.

I always find that tags do not have enough space to write on. Well, I've solved that issue!  With a 3D tag, you have plenty of room to decorate the front and write a message on the inside.

Start with a tag die. Cut out 2 pieces. (If you do not own one, tags can be any size but are typically 2 inches x 3 inches.) Now is the time to stamp onto your top tag if you would like to decorate it.

Cut out your shape from the top tag. Do not toss that piece. Score the top tag along the top of the tag to form a hinge.

Adhere the folded part of the top tag to the bottom tag.

Cut out your shape several more times (I used four extra bear diecuts plus the lavender one I cut from the top tag.)

Glue all the layers of the shape together to make a thicker shape.

With the tag folder closed, glue the thicker shape to the bottom tag, making sure it fits through the opening.

Now you just need the gift to go along with your cute DIY gift tag!
