Monochromatic Handmade Cards

Monochrome is all the rage today!

I've seen so many pretty monochromatic cards where the cardstock is the star of the show and I was excited to try my own! Monochromatic, deco art designs are popular right now in cardmaking.

To begin, I took my circle dies (you can also use ovals, squares, and rectangles--any shapes that are symmetrical) and cut a few different sizes out of my 12 x 12 American Crafts Variety Packs. I chose Peacock, Cascade, Robin’s Egg and Fountain for the blues; Tangerine, Sunflower, Lemon and Canary for the yellows.

Shop Bazzill Monochromatic Cardstock packs here! All the work is done for you.

Adhere the circles together stacked to one side of the circle and then trim in half.

Now you have 2 elements to use on your card (or you can make 2 cards at one time!)

You can align the half circles equally (on top of each other), or offset them (I actually prefer the offset!)  Use a sentiment strip or just a strip of cardstock to separate the circle halves.  And don’t forget, you can go from light to dark or dark to light.

Just think of the possibilities!  The color combos...the sentiments...the occasions! If you need more ideas for monochromatic color combos, be sure and check out our Monochromatic Bazzill Color Combos blog post
