Our Most Popular Cardstocks For Stampers

Thu, Oct 28, 21 . Design Team

We carry some great papers for stamping, but it can be confusing as to which one to use. Design Team Member Kate is here to compare our two most popular cardstocks for stampers.  She made the same card using Neenah Granna Grossa in Bianco and in Neenah Classic Crest in Solar White.

First, just a bit about these two papers. Neenah Granna Grossa is a heavier weight paper that has an orange peel texture similar to watercolor or letter press paper. It is meant to absorb ink the way a watercolor paper would, so stamped lines are not super crisp, but it has a beautiful handmade feel.

Neenah Classic Crest is a favorite cardstock for stampers because of the super smooth texture. Stamped lines stay nice and crisp and inks don't bleed the way they would on the Granna Grossa paper

Stamping a solid image on Granna Grossa gives a textured look. Even with a stamping platform, the leaf image does not stamp solidly. Repeated stamping in the same spot with a stamping platform does not change the textured look, but that is part of the charm! It gives it a rough, aged look.

Neenah Classic Crest offers a smooth surface that accepts the ink well and delivers a solid image. No need for multiple re-inking and stamping. This paper makes stamping a solid image easy.

Each of these papers offers a unique look, even using the same supplies, and choosing the right paper can alter the look of your card.

Want a textured look? Use Granna Grossa. Want smooth and evenly stamped? Classic Crest is your paper!
