Hi Crafty Friends!! Amanda from Lace Designs Studio here. Today I bring you a cute free personalized Easter basket DIY in the style of a cracked egg. This will make for a perfect Easter craft to make for your kids or loved ones! I used lots of new colors from the Encore Textured Cardstock line which were perfect for this project!

Theres an option in the file to use a girl bunny (with lashes and heart glasses) or a boy bunny (no lashes on the eyes and circle glasses) so just choose which bunny you like best. Get the SVG file HERE.

For me, I always work with small pieces first to eliminate losing pieces and having to recut, but also once I have my small pieces out the way, its smooth sailing for me. I started by assembling the bunnys face first. A helpful tip here to make sure everything is lined up and evenly spaced out - duplicate the face layers (eyes, mouth etc) and change them to score lines and attach so youll know exactly where to place them. Youll need a scoring stylus (Explore, Maker) or scoring wheel (Maker) to use this tip. Once the mouth was glued, I assembled the eyes, and the bow along with the cheek area of the face. I used 2mm white foamies here to give a little depth for how bunny cheeks are always so plump :)

Go ahead and set the bunny to the side, were going to start assembling the cracked egg box. Take your strips and fold along the dashed score lines. Then place glue along the score tabs and glue them into place. I started with the smallest strip and lined it up from the bottom piece and glued in place before gluing the top piece in place. I repeated this for the longer strip until they were connected and glued down. Next I added glue on the front score tabs and placed the front layer on top, carefully lining it up so that it stays perfectly in place.

Next I added a name to personalize the box, so grab your favorite font and add a few offsets to make it pop. I used 2mm foamies here as well between my second and third layer, and the back layer onto the cracked egg front. Finally, I used acetate for the glasses and used a 3mm foamie so it stood out just a tad more from the face to give it the effect of the normal gap between eyes and glasses.

For the sparkle on the acetate, I just used sticker paper I had and applied it directly on top of the acetate before cutting. You can just use regular acetate if you wish, buy some star acetate, or use the glasses without the lens if you dont have acetate on hand.

Lastly, fill the box with whatever youd like; snacks, gift cards, bubbles, coloring books, etc - the possibilities are endless. I hope you enjoyed this free SVG and I look forward to seeing your projects!
