Color Palette for Masculine Cards

Did you know we have a weekly color challenge over in our Facebook group? Each week we share a new color palette to inspire you for the week.

Kate was inspired by these color challenges and pulled out her Encore swatch book to find a good color combination for her project. Kate decided on this masculine color palette but feel free to adapt the colors to your preference.

To make your own fun background she began by punching out several sizes of circles (feel free to use dies and/or other shapes).

She first arranged the circles on her card front without glue so she could freely move them around and adjust until she got the look she desired. Once she liked how the circles were arranged, she used Bearly Arts glue to adhere them to the piece of cardstock and cut off the overhanging paper. She then glued the DIY pattern piece to the front of the folded card.

The handmade Father's Day card uses the natural texture from the Encore Textured cardstock.

This next card takes it up a notch!  Kate used an embossing folder and ran the entire panel through an embossing machine for a fun added texture. This will also create a more cohesive and complete look with your patterns.

You can see there are so many card making possibilities just by using this simple paper craft technique!
