Rosette Party Decor Fans DIY

Thu, Feb 04, 21 . Design Team

Hi, again! Kelley here with another easy party decor idea. I have had a beautiful DCWV stack on my desk for months and absolutely love all of the gorgeous patterns inside; however, I had no clue what I wanted to create with it! Does this ever happen to you? You fall in love with the colors and patterns of a certain paper, but you are clueless as to how you want to use it?

It finally hit me the other day when I was looking through old photos of my daughter’s first birthday - rosettes!

A few years ago, before I got crafty, I purchased premade rosette fans and used them as a backdrop for the dessert table at my daughter’s party and received such great feedback. I decided to give it a shot and I am thrilled with the outcome.

Here are the supplies you will need for this project:

Once you have the template in design space, duplicate the rosette strip so that you have a total of four pieces. Next, duplicate the round piece so that you have a total of two center pieces. Send it to your Cricut machine, load your mat and get those pieces cut and scored. (Note that you can also create this without a file, by cutting long rectangle strips, scoring at even dimensions and then folding according to directions.)

Next, fold your strips accordion style – two strips folded with the pattern ends facing up, and the other two folded with the pattern ends facing down.

Apply your favorite craft glue to one end of a strip, attach to a second strip, and use a clothespin to secure until the glue dries. Continue until the rosette is formed.

Next, glue the centers on either side. Know that the back center piece is important as it stabilizes the rosette and prevents it from flipping inside out.

How easy was that?

Once you have the basic technique down, you can make these in any color or theme for an easy party decor idea.  Trust me, you will receive a ton of compliments!
