Sunburst Paper Strips Card Technique

Thu, Dec 16, 21 . Michelle Price

I can admit it...I'm a patterned paper hoarder! But I also like to find ways to use my hoard. AND I love the look of a paper strips card. You can find a few strip card tutorials I've done here and here, and head on over to our Instagram for more ideas.

Here's an easy idea to use your patterned paper (or solid, too!) This is a great technique for matching patterns, as it uses the whole sheet of 12" x 12" or 6" x 6" paper.

Supplies:

Take a sheet of patterned paper and cut into pieces measuring 1"x 6" (or you can go bigger with 1 1/4" x 6"). Then cut those pieces on the diagonal.

Now all you have to decide is where you want your focal point to be and have the points of the strips meet at the focal point. (You will cover the meeting points of the papers with your stamped or diecut image). Attach the strips to a card base and then trim off overhanging pieces.

You can place the papers in any orientation (top, bottom or sides). You can use the entire rainbow of patterned papers or just a few to coordinate with your image.

Don't limit yourself...solids, florals, plaids! Here's another take on this card that is TOTALLY different...

I can't wait to see what you create!
