Back in August I shared a post about using cardstock strips to make card backgrounds. Since then, lots of companies have come out with strip dies for card backgrounds (thus solving the dilemma of crooked strips and unequal sizes). Let me show you three ideas using these popular strip dies.
First, use your American Crafts Brights 12x12 cardstock pack to cut out your rainbow. Be sure to think outside the box--pastels are great too! Add a simple stamped image (here the butterfly) stamped in matching colors.
Don't have a stamp or ink? Why not add a flower or heart diecut or a tiny premade embellishment like a sequin or enamel dot.
The third idea is to step it up! Add another die cut (here I used a Ric-Rac die) or even just add a thinner strip of cardstock to add dimension to the original strip.
Don't forget that you can use one of the strips as your sentiment as well!
Hopefully that helps get you started with this trendy paper craft idea! And if you love the bright colors in this project, be sure and check out our Bright Spring Cardstock Collection for all the trendiest bright spring papers.

The stitching is an embossing die. Kate ran it through the embossing machine after it was all assembled.
