Using Complementary Cardstock Colors With Die Cuts
Hey all, Kate here! A few months ago, I wrote a blog post about all the great color combos with Encore Textured Cardstock that you could use with layering dies (read it here). Today I’m here with a few color combos that require just two colors, making it perfect for swapping colors and getting more cards out of one cut.
HOW TO STRETCH YOUR DIE CUTS
I like to use this two for one die cut technique when making cards because it allows me to use all the pieces of the die and make some fast cards. Essentially I chose two complementary colors and cut my die from both colors. Next, I switch out the pieces so that I have different colors for the layers. Since I already have the design planned out, I make two identical cards, just mixing and matching the die cut layers.
Encore Textured Cardstock cuts so cleanly with metal dies. There’s no threads or uneven cuts. Even the intricate petals of the flower cut cleanly.
