How to Make an Easel Card

To make the easel portion, you first want to determine what size your finished card will be. My card is an A7 sized card (5”x 7)”.

First, take an 8 ½” x 11” sized piece of cardstock and cut it to 5” x 11”. Then take the longest side (11”) and score it down the middle (at 5 ½”).

Next, score one of the halves down the middle (at 2 ¾”). Once the scoring is done, fold the easel card at the 5 ½” and the 2 ¾” score lines. This creates the base (or easel) portion of the card.

Now, let’s make the card panel. I used a bee die, however, for this type of card, you can create any card panel, using whatever die or/stamps you have.

For this card, I die-cut the bee die out of four cardstocks to complete my bee card panel. I used the Fine Gold Pearlstock for the hair of the bee and used The Hologram Sequin Glitter cardstock in Silver for the wings. To make a frame for the card and to have a sturdy body of the bee, I used the Bianco Pearl Holographic cardstock. And lastly, I used the Dotted Swiss cardstock in Pepper for the legs and body of the bee to give a bumpy texture.

After the bee components were die-cut out, I adhered them together on a 5”x 7” Pearl Mylar card panel. After the card panel was completed, I then adhered the back of the card panel to the 2 ¾” portion of the easel card.

At the bottom of the easel card, you can decorate and create a “stopper” to match the card panel. This stopper will catch the edge of the card so it can stand up.

For my bee card, I have decorated the bottom of the card panel and created a stopper with chip board stickers in my sticker stash.

That completes it!

Get to buzzing...happy crafting, until then :)
