Cardstock Easter Hat Craft

This is such a beautiful project. I loved the daffodils and daisy, and cattails. They really just made the project pop!

The file has a cameo shape embellishment that I put a birdcage charm in the center of. Of course, you could leave it blank or use any other kind of charm to set it off.

I like to finish my blogs with a little tip. While making the cattails, they just seemed so “flat”. Cattails are so soft and fluffy. I noticed they are the same shape of the tip of cotton swabs. I keep generic cotton swabs in my craft room for many different things from applying ink to pieces to glue application. Now, they are CATTAILS! (Edited: Upon further research, these are pussy willows, not cattails. 😉).
I pulled the tips off the cotton swabs and they were so straight so I used my pick to pick out the cotton just a wee bit to make them a little bit fluffier. Then I applied them to the cardstock cattails. I am really pleased the way they came out looking. I hope you will give it a try!

How do you get the tutorial to make this gorgeous hat?
Teresa-
Click the link for the Skimmer Hat and you’ll find the SVG file for purchase along with an assembly video by Dreaming Tree.
This is just so beautiful! I’m awestruck by the talent that this hat demonstrates. Another great project Christi!
Where can I find instructions for the Easter hat project?
Rick-
Thank you for pointing that out! We’ve updated the post now that we know the difference 😉. The only thing I can say is that we’re experts at paper, but maybe not plants 😂.
