Paper Pumpkin Luminaries

When it comes to the holidays, I love to decorate! My wallet, however, doesn’t love it in quite the same way. Decking your halls doesn’t have to mean an expensive trip to your go-to store.

Instead, you can create your own décor for a fraction of the price, like these beautiful Pumpkin Luminaries!

Supplies you’ll need:
Begin by uploading the Pumpkin Luminaries SVG into Design Space. For reference, here are the dimensions used to create the same size pictured above (8 inches in width by 9.2 inches in height):

The Pumpkin SVG comes with two layers. To give the lantern effect, cut the top layer from solid cardstock and the second layer from vellum.

One thing I decided to do prior to cutting everything out, was to use the circle shape and slice function in Design Space to create an opening in the bottom of the pumpkin to ensure there was plenty of room for the Flameless Tea Light Candle to fit when the pumpkin was placed on top.

To assemble these pumpkins, begin by gluing the vellum and cardstock layers together. Be sure to place glue on each one of the leaves to ensure they lay flat against the vellum when curved.

Next, take any one of the petals and curve it inward towards the center, and place a drop of glue on the circle at the top. Curve the adjacent petal inward and place its circle on top of the glue drop. Continue to do this until all six petals are joined together.

To create the stem, cut a strip of paper that is 0.25 inches in height and six inches in width. Quill the paper, pull the top out slightly, place glue at the base and position it at the pumpkin’s top center.

I would love to see how yours turned out! Tag @wild_sparkle_ and @12x12cardstock on Insta!
