Hi Crafty Friends! Amanda from Lace Designs Studio here. Looking for a fun way to gift money? I stumbled across this ATM DIY Cash Gift Box file on Etsy and I fell in love with it. I thought it would be the perfect way to gift my Dad some cash for his upcoming birthday. It's also a great DIY gift idea for a teen.
There’s a lot of pieces for this project, but most are easy and quick to assemble, though it can look a bit intimidating. I’m here to help with how I assembled it.

How to Assemble 3D ATM Money Gift Box
I decided to start with the base of the project. The first thing I did was I grabbed my lighter gray side panel pieces and attached the black covers on top of them. I also grabbed the largest black rectangle and glued it directly onto what would be the back of the ATM Machine. Also, there's a smaller black rectangle that goes right on the top of the machine.
Once the side panels were attached to their respective gray pieces, I folded along the dashed score lines and added glue to the small tabs that will get glued to the corresponding side panels that are attached to the overall machine, and the top two thirds of the side panel. The reason we don’t glue the entire piece is because we want to leave the bottom portion glue-free so that the money draw can slide in and out.

Next, I worked on the area that would serve as the lock box or the money drawer. I glued all the respective pieces together - which are pretty easy to figure out as they all fit together nicely on top of each other. Once we have the lock box area glued, we’re going to glue that piece onto the larger frame of the box. You’ll notice the lock box has an area that can be glued into the inner part of the box. Once the tab has been glued, we’ll go ahead and assemble the shape of our box, gluing each side together as they line up. Now is the perfect time to go ahead and make sure the side pieces of the lock box slide into the panel portions that were left unglued earlier. You can also set this piece aside for now as we begin building out our ATM screen.

Here is where this box will take the majority of your time as there are a lot of details that go into making this look realistic. As we begin assembling our ATM Screen, you’ll see that I scored where the letters belong - this just helps me make sure everything is spaced and aligned evenly. Similarly to how we assembled the pieces earlier, we’ll begin by gluing all the pieces that fit on top of each other as seen in the photos.

Now, onto our pin pad. This was so cute and tiny! I definitely recommend using tweezers to help with the small pieces. I started by gluing the open keypad onto the square piece that perfectly fits it, and then grabbing the “privacy protector” - I folded along the dashed lines and added glue onto the tabs where the pin pad would lay on top of. Then adding more glue to the back of the pin pad, I placed it right into the square on the portion where our screen assembly is.
Next I folded along those scored lines and glued them carefully into the machine box. I found that it was easier to do this with the lock box drawer opened. After all sides have been glued, you can go ahead and slide the sides of the drawer back into position (although I recommend adding your money first - but this can be done at any time!)

I hope that my Dad likes this for his birthday :) I decided to use a small straw and tape together fifty $1 bills so he can have fun rolling them out of the slot. Would you make one of these ATM DIY Cash Gift Boxes?

The SVG file is linked on the supply list, just click where it says “File: ATM Machine SVG”
Can you share a source for the ATM SVG? I didn’t find anything using a Google search. Thanks
I love all the tutorials you have but my question is, do you also provide or sell the SVG file to cut everything out I never see SVG files on your site.
This is great but would be even better with dimensions, patterns, etc. Those of us not so artistically gifted need all the basics. Would love to make this for my nephews but I need more in the way of directions.
