Hi everyone, it’s April from Lilacpeaches Handmade.
If you’re looking for a fun and simple Valentine craft for kids, this Valentine crown is sure to fit the bill! Make it with your kids for a fun activity or make it for them as a surprise. The crown SVG I used is from Hooray Paper on Etsy linked here. This shop has many different styled crowns for cutting that you can style and decorate to make them your own, but Cricut and Silhouette design libraries have similar designs, so you have lots of options.
Valentine Crown Craft Supplies
- Bazzill cardstock in Red Devil, Berry Blush, and Purple Palisades
- Bearly Arts Precision Glue
- Dimensional Foam Adhesive
- Cutting Machine
- Embellishments (optional)
Valentine Crown Assembling Process
I like to assemble my embellishments first so that they’re ready to go once the main item is assembled. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I used a playful image with a heart and “xoxo” lettering.
You can use whatever images you’d like for a cute custom touch, or even add the child’s names! Once your embellishment is assembled, place it to the side so you can proceed to attach the two pieces of the crown together by inserting the tab and adding a dab of craft glue. For size reference, I cut both pieces 11.5 inches in length. The crown SVG comes with little tabs so you can easily adjust for sizing.
Once you have determined the circumference size you need, insert the little tab and add a dab of craft glue so that the flap doesn’t come undone.
You may have excess paper, you can choose to cut it or simply glue it down. I glued mine down as the pieces overlapped seamlessly that you couldn’t tell there was any excess left. Lastly, attach your embellishment. I like to do this with a 3D foam sticker, as you can reposition as needed in case you want to make any adjustments to the placement of your embellishment.
You now have a super cute and playful crown, fit for just about anyone to wear!
