Shaker cards are still one of the most fun cards for card making, but did you know you can make a shaker card out of virtually any die cut? Design Team Member Kate is here to show you how with an adorable strawberry jam shaker card!
Start with a die. Kate cut several (8 to be exact) of the jam jars. You will need one for the back, several to build up the walls of the jar to make the walls of the shaker and one to top the acetate. Kate cut away the center of the jars to make the opening.
Kate colored in a red background to replicate the jam, but this is optional. Adhere in this order: base, seven layers for the walls, shaker bits, acetate, then top layer.
*BEFORE YOU PLACE THE ACETATE: fill with shaker bits, rhinestones or pearls. Shop our variety of shaker bits here!
Make sure you glue every edge so that no bits fall out of the shaker element. Allow to dry completely.
Then decorate the rest of your card.
This is typically not a mailing card as it is super bulky, but would be a great card to hand deliver!
Now that you know the basic technique you can make handmade shaker cards all day! Just go through your stash and see which dies you can make a shaker with. It doesn't get much simpler!
