Halloween Candy Dome Treat

DIY Halloween Favor Candy Dome

Hi Crafty Friends, Amanda here! I came across the cutest Halloween cut file, this Halloween Favor Candy Dome, that’s also super easy to put together. It would honestly make for the perfect Halloween treat for kid’s school parties or for your loved ones. We have six easy layers to work with today - and they’re all super sparkly thanks to Encore Glitter Luxe and Sequin Glitter cardstock! Let's get started on this DIY Halloween Cricut craft.

How to Make a DIY Halloween Favor Candy Dome

I started by creating my pumpkin layers first. I grabbed the orange pumpkin and glued it directly onto the brown stem layer, and then completed it with the black outline on top. When that was done, I used foam tape and added some on the back of the pumpkin to add some depth before placing it on the green frosted layer. I like adding foam tape just to add some stability since the candies will add weight onto the cardstock. You don’t have to add foam tape, but I highly recommend.

Gluing Plastic Candy Domes to Paper

Next, is the tricky candy dome! First we will set the first half of our domes aside and work on the base layer. I took my purple layer and placed it on top of the dome and onto the black layer to “eyeball” where the dome will be for it to line up correctly. Then I dismantled it, added the Hershey Kisses inside the dome, and using my Beacon 3-in-1 glue, I lined the rim of the dome with glue. I gently picked up the black layer and with placing it above eye-view, placed it on top of the dome where I thought it would perfectly line up. If you have to adjust it slightly, the Beacon glue is perfect for this because it gives ample dry time. Don’t worry about making a mess on the black layer (as I sort of did) because it will be completely covered by the purple layer.

Now we’re going to flip our purple layer and add foam tape all over the back before placing it onto the black layer. It already looks so cute! Lastly, we’ll take our frosted pumpkin layers and add foam tape on the back before placing it onto the purple layer.
