Summer Themed Die Cut Handmade Card

Summer Themed Die Cut Handmade Card

Hello, Design Team Member Kandice here, Welcome! Only “good vibes” coming your way!

Do you love paper texture as much as I do? If yes, then you are in the right place! For today’s paper craft project, we'll be making a summer themed handmade card. Let's get started!

How to Make This Summer Themed Die Cut Card

For this project, I used dies that can make different hills or snow drifts, but you can use any border die that has a wavy shape.

Next, I cut several strips (approx. 6.25” x 1.25”) of various textures of specialty paper in shades of yellow, blue, and tan. Using the hill dies and the strips of colored paper, I was able to make various “waves”.

Knowing that I wanted to create a sun from the waves, I glued the yellow set of waves to a light weight sheet of cardstock. Once the yellow waves were dried, I used a circle die for the sun and a triangle die for the sun rays. After all the die-cuts were made, I used a pre-made background from my personal stash, (so any background will do), and glued the background to an A6 (4.5” x 6.25”) card.

Next, I adhered the blue and tan waves to the card, making sure to cut off anything that hung off the sides. I then stamped the “good vibes only“ stamp in the upper left corner and used foam adhesive to pop up the sun. This project can play with all shades of color, styles, and textures. It's a great way to use up paper scraps too. So have fun and mix it up—but “Good Vibes Only”!

I love this Kandice~ beautiful ocean theme and a great way to use up all those small pieces that I’m always saving!
I love the use of My Favorite Things Snow drift to cut the shape and the stitched lines which had a lot of dimension and detail.
Have a great week and happy creating
