Just like teachers have a favorite student, or dogs have a favorite worn out toy, papercrafters typically have a favorite adhesive. I discovered the best adhesive for dimensional paper projects several years ago when I was deep into making paper structures and I've stuck by it ever since. It's an adhesive that works well for dimensional paper projects, but it also works great for cards, scrapbook pages and all the other papercraft projects I've tried. It's important to me to have an adhesive that is going to hold strong for the long haul, and here's why...
I started scrapbooking way back in the olden days of scrapbooking. Like 20 years ago when it was all eyelets, stick people stickers, and Basic Grey was king of the paper companies. I scrapbooked my early newlywed years and then made pages of every moment of my babies lives. My young children used to love to pour over those scrapbook pages and read the stories and laugh at themselves.
Those scrapbooks got tucked away in a closet for years and those babies are now teenagers. Several years ago I pulled out my scrapbooks to look at them and I was totally heartbroken to see that so many of my pages had loose pieces and the photos and embellishments had fallen to the bottom of the page protector.
About that same time I started making three dimensional paper projects like flowers and party favors and things that needed to stay put together and I heard someone share how much they loved Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue (with the green lid). I tried it and fell in love. It gets tacky pretty quickly and holds tight for a long time. I have intricate dimensional projects that are still going strong 4-5 years later. What I love is that it takes about 20 seconds to dry enough to be firm and in those 20 seconds you can make minor adjustments if your corners don't match up or something is slightly off. But then once it sets, it stays put! It's the best glue for dimensional paper projects and easier projects like a flat scrapbook page because it keeps things in place.
I went back and glued a lot of my pages back together with the Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue and so far, so good. It's my favorite adhesive and I use it on everything now! (You can tell my latest tube is well loved!) I'm so excited Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue is now at 12x12 Cardstock Shop.
