11 Ideas For Using Glitter Cardstock

Glitter cardstock is one of my favorite ways to give my paper craft projects a bit of a boost. The unexpected shine elevates the whole project! But if you are new to using specialty cardstock, I can see how you might be uncertain about how to use glitter cardstock on projects. Glitter Cardstock Idea #4 : Use Glitter On Popular Strip Card Projects

Strip cards are trending right now and Design Team Member Kate has shared traditional strip card ideas in the past, but we love her glittery take on a handmade birthday card where she's used glitter cardstock strips as her candles. Glitter Cardstock Idea #5: Use Glitter As Detail Accent Layers

Our Glitter Luxe and Sequin Glitter Cardstock cuts great and that allows you to add detailed accent layers to your projects using glitter paper. Glitter Cardstock Idea #5: Use In Place of Basic White Cardstock

Why stick with basic white cardstock, when you can use a shimmery white glitter cardstock instead? We have four different white glitter cardstocks, Bright White, Silver Speckled White, White Opal and No-Shed White Glitter Cardstock. Glitter Cardstock Idea #6: Create Snowy Accents

One more reason to love white glitter cardstock - we love the look of glitter cardstock as snow! It shimmers just like the real thing, but it never melts. Silver Speckled White Glitter Cardstock is our favorite pick for snow on papercraft projects. Former Design Team Member Pam created this winter scene using layers of glitter, foil and vellum papers. Glitter Cardstock Idea #7: Cut Large Glitter Shapes As Sentiment Layers

Instead of using glitter cardstock in subtle ways, go bold and cut large glitter shapes to mount your sentiments on. We love how designer Tara put a large red heart under her white sentiment and made the whole thing pop off the card. See Valentine Card here.

Glitter Cardstock Idea #9: Layer Glitter Cardstock Behind Foil

We love how the shine of the glitter mixes with the shine of the foil on this handmade Christmas card by Design Team Member Kate. To get this look, find layered dies that have a larger background shape and a top intricate layer. See Handmade Christmas card here.

Glitter Cardstock Idea #10: Make Glitter Cardstock The Star Of The Show

While we love the look of glitter accents here and there, we REALLY love when glitter is the star of the show. Design Team Member Kate used a large square of glitter as the focal point of her card, then added shadowy die cuts on top. See Graduation Card here.

Glitter Cardstock Idea #11: Create Glitter Inlay Sentiments

We love the look of large sentiments on handmade cards, but this design by Design Team Member Kate is just extra special. She's used a sentiment die to create inlaid glitter letters. Cut your sentiment from basic cardstock, then cut it from glitter cardstock and fit the pieces in place like a puzzle. Genius!  See Inlaid Glitter Card here.
